Madras HC: Temple Employees Dying On Duty Entitled

The Madras High Court has ruled that temples are establishments and their employees who die while on duty are entitled to compensation. This decision upholds the joint commissioner of labour's order regarding a security guard, Babu, who died on temple premises in 2021. The court stated that even if the employee was hired through a private firm, the temple cannot evade liability. It directed the labour commissioner to expedite the compensation proceedings for Babu's family.

मद्रास HC: ड्यूटी पर मरने वाले मंदिर कर्मचारियों को मिलेगा मुआवज़ा

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि मंदिर भी एक प्रतिष्ठान हैं और ड्यूटी के दौरान मरने वाले उनके कर्मचारियों को मुआवज़े का हक़ है। यह फैसला 2021 में मंदिर परिसर में मरने वाले सुरक्षा गार्ड, बाबू, के संबंध में श्रम के संयुक्त आयुक्त के आदेश को बरकरार रखता है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि भले ही कर्मचारी को किसी प्राइवेट फर्म के ज़रिए रखा गया हो, मंदिर अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी से बच नहीं सकता। कोर्ट ने श्रम आयुक्त को बाबू के परिवार के लिए मुआवज़े की कार्यवाही तेज़ी से पूरी करने का निर्देश दिया है।
