India Manufacturing PMI Eases to 54.7 in October Amidst Strong Export Demand

Business Standard · business

India's manufacturing activity saw a slight moderation in October, with the PMI dropping to 54.7 from 55.1 in September. Despite a marginal slowdown in output and new orders, export demand surged to a six-month high, boosting overall activity. Selling price inflation also reached its lowest point in nearly four years. The PMI remained above the 50-point expansion threshold, indicating continued manufacturing sector strength. Manufacturers benefited from improving demand, new clients, and marketing efforts, though the pace of new business growth eased slightly.
