Punjab Minister: Anti-Drug Activist Murdered Over Old Personal Dispute

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota was due to an old personal dispute with the accused chemist. Cheema condemned the incident, emphasizing it was a result of past enmity and not a breakdown of law and order. Preliminary findings from the Mansa range DIG also pointed to personal enmity as the motive. Police are working to apprehend the main accused, with a key associate already arrested and family members detained for questioning.

पंजाब के वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा ने कहा कि नशा विरोधी कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की हत्या आरोपी केमिस्ट के साथ पुराने निजी झगड़े के कारण हुई थी। चीमा ने इस घटना की निंदा की और जोर देकर कहा कि यह कानून-व्यवस्था के टूटने का नहीं, बल्कि पुरानी दुश्मनी का नतीजा था। मानसा रेंज के डीआईजी की प्रारंभिक जांच में भी निजी दुश्मनी को मकसद बताया गया था। पुलिस मुख्य आरोपी को पकड़ने के लिए काम कर रही है, जिसमें एक मुख्य सहयोगी को पहले ही गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है और परिवार के सदस्यों को पूछताछ के लिए हिरासत में लिया गया है।
