Tamil Nadu DVAC Arrests Six, Including Five Govt Officials, in Four Bribery Cases

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Tamil Nadu apprehended six individuals, comprising five government officials and one private citizen, across four separate bribery cases. These arrests occurred on Monday in Salem, the Nilgiris, Chengalpet, and Karur districts. The DVAC conducted trap operations following complaints of bribe demands for routine government services. Officials were caught accepting sums ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 20,000 for tasks like processing land documents, contractor payments, and electricity connections. All arrested individuals have been remanded in judicial custody.

तमिलनाडु में सतर्कता और भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक निदेशालय (DVAC) ने सोमवार को चार अलग-अलग रिश्वतखोरी मामलों में पांच सरकारी अधिकारियों और एक निजी नागरिक सहित छह लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया। ये गिरफ्तारियां सलेम, नीलगिरी, चेंगलपेट और करूर जिलों में हुईं। DVAC ने नियमित सरकारी सेवाओं के लिए रिश्वत मांगने की शिकायतों के बाद जाल बिछाकर कार्रवाई की। अधिकारियों को भूमि दस्तावेज़ों के प्रसंस्करण, ठेकेदार के भुगतान और बिजली कनेक्शन जैसे कामों के लिए 3,000 रुपये से 20,000 रुपये तक की रिश्वत लेते हुए पकड़ा गया। गिरफ्तार सभी लोगों को न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया है।
