SDRF Teams Monitor Ganga Ferries and Cargo Vessels in Bhagalpur

The Bhagalpur district unit of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has deployed six inflatable rubber rescue boats and 12 team members to monitor ferries and cargo vessels on the Ganga River. Trained for underwater operations, the teams are ensuring safety and responding to emergencies, including medical situations, between Bhagalpur and Naugachia. They recently rescued an unauthorized boat carrying bananas and a motorcycle that lost control in strong currents. The SDRF commander warned against operating unauthorized boats, emphasizing the ban and the risks involved.
