New Zealand's Abel Tasman National Park has undergone a significant 14-year ecological restoration, concluding a project that began in 2012. This extensive effort involved pest control, weed removal, habitat work, and species recovery to combat the loss of natural richness caused by introduced predators and invasive plants. Over $21 million was invested, leading to the return of native birds like kākā, whio, and pāteke, and the recovery of native plants such as mistletoe and rata.
