Guntur Cancer Genetic Testing Lab Opens Sept 22

Andhra Pradesh will soon offer advanced genetic testing for cancer patients with a new laboratory at GGH, Guntur. Inaugurated on September 22, the facility is a joint effort by the state government, AstraZeneca, and Strand Life Sciences. It will initially test for breast and lung cancer mutations, eliminating the need to send samples outside the state. These tests, costing up to ₹75,000 privately, will be free for patients, enabling personalized treatment based on tumor genetics.

आंध्र प्रदेश में कैंसर मरीजों के लिए जल्द ही जेनेटिक टेस्टिंग की सुविधा मिलेगी। गुंटूर के GGH में एक नया लैब खुला है। यह राज्य सरकार, AstraZeneca और Strand Life Sciences की मिली-जुली कोशिश है। शुरुआत में ब्रेस्ट और लंग कैंसर के म्यूटेशन की जांच होगी। इससे सैंपल बाहर भेजने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी। ये टेस्ट, जो बाहर ₹75,000 तक के होते हैं, मरीजों के लिए मुफ्त होंगे। इससे ट्यूमर की जेनेटिक्स के आधार पर इलाज हो सकेगा।
