Mohali Residents Battle Garbage Mounds Despite Pollution Board's Clear Directions

Hindustan Times · india

Residents in Mohali's Sector 70 are still struggling with large garbage mounds, including municipal waste, plastic, and cow dung, despite clear directions from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB). The PPCB had ordered the Mohali municipal corporation (MC) to clear the open dumping site on July 24, following a complaint and an inspection that found unsegregated waste. Residents report no change and are falling sick due to the conditions. While MC officials claim the site has been cleaned, residents question the lack of action and accountability for continued non-compliance.
