A 48-year-old man allegedly lured the child away with promises of a fair and snacks, taking her about 200 meters from her home. He then committed the heinous act in a mango orchard. Alerted villagers apprehended the accused, severely beat him, and handed him over to the police. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where her condition is stable but she remains under close observation.
