वरिष्ठ BJP नेता मुरली मनोहर जोशी ने कहा कि समाज में भ्रष्टाचार बहुत गहराई तक जम गया है। उन्होंने अयोध्या में राम मंदिर पर टिप्पणी की और कहा कि इसे बनाने के लिए बने ट्रस्ट की ज़िम्मेदारी सरकार की है। जोशी ने बद्रीनाथ मंदिर के पास पर्यटन और सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों पर भी चिंता जताई और कहा कि हिमालय बहुत नाजुक हैं। उन्होंने मल्टी-लेवल पार्किंग और डीजे कॉन्सर्ट जैसे इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट्स की आलोचना की और चेतावनी दी कि विकास हिमालय की सहनशक्ति से ज़्यादा हो रहा है, और जोशीमठ आपदा इसका उदाहरण है।
