The Union Cabinet has approved a Rs 2,814 crore Capex Support Scheme for processing critical minerals like lithium and nickel. This initiative aims to build a comprehensive and self-reliant critical mineral ecosystem in India, crucial for future technologies. The scheme is expected to attract approximately Rs 10,000 crore in investment and generate Rs 25,000 crore in output value. It will establish India's first large-scale commercial lithium and nickel refining facilities, with a projected annual refining capacity of 60,000 tonnes of lithium and 100,000 tonnes of nickel by 2030.

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने लिथियम और निकेल जैसे महत्वपूर्ण खनिजों के प्रसंस्करण के लिए ₹2,814 करोड़ की केपेक्स सपोर्ट स्कीम को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस पहल का लक्ष्य भारत में एक व्यापक और आत्मनिर्भर महत्वपूर्ण खनिज पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र का निर्माण करना है, जो भविष्य की तकनीकों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। इस स्कीम से लगभग ₹10,000 करोड़ के निवेश को आकर्षित करने और ₹25,000 करोड़ के उत्पादन मूल्य उत्पन्न करने की उम्मीद है। यह 2030 तक 60,000 टन लिथियम और 100,000 टन निकेल की अनुमानित वार्षिक रिफाइनिंग क्षमता के साथ भारत की पहली बड़ी वाणिज्यिक लिथियम और निकेल रिफाइनिंग सुविधाओं की स्थापना करेगा।
