Guwahati Hotel Lease Dispute Turns Deadly; Leaseholder Kills 4 Family Members

A dispute over a hotel lease in Guwahati escalated into a mass shooting at the Bilas Inn on Monday night, resulting in five deaths and one injury. The victims included the hotel's co-owner, her son and daughter-in-law, her brother, and the property's caretaker. The leaseholder, Ghanakanta Gogoi, was arrested within an hour of the incident. Police stated the shooting stemmed from a property dispute related to the hotel's lease agreement. The accused was apprehended with a licensed pistol suspected to be used in the killings.
