Priyagold Biscuit Maker's License Suspended For Using Cattle-Feed Bran

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has suspended the license of Priyagold biscuit manufacturer Surya Food and Agro Limited. The company was found to be using cattle-feed bran, not intended for human consumption, as a source of fibre in its products. The regulator also initiated legal proceedings for multiple food safety violations, including issues with plant hygiene, pest control, and raw material storage. Prosecution proceedings have also begun against Dodla Dairy Limited and UEIR Organic Foods Private Limited for alleged safety breaches.

भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) ने Priyagold बिस्किट बनाने वाली कंपनी Surya Food and Agro Limited का लाइसेंस निलंबित कर दिया है। कंपनी को अपने उत्पादों में फाइबर के स्रोत के रूप में पशुओं के चारे वाले चोकर का इस्तेमाल करते हुए पाया गया, जो इंसानों के खाने के लिए नहीं है। नियामक ने प्लांट की स्वच्छता, कीट नियंत्रण और कच्चे माल के भंडारण से जुड़े कई खाद्य सुरक्षा उल्लंघनों के लिए कानूनी कार्रवाई भी शुरू की है। Dodla Dairy Limited और UEIR Organic Foods Private Limited के खिलाफ भी कथित सुरक्षा उल्लंघनों के लिए अभियोजन कार्यवाही शुरू की गई है।
