The Northeast monsoon has intensified in Tamil Nadu, with a low-pressure area over the Comorin region prompting alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts until October 26. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued orange and yellow alerts for areas including Kanniyakumari, the Nilgiris, and Coimbatore, which may experience very heavy rainfall with squally winds. Chennai can expect isolated heavy rain spells until Saturday, with intensity increasing from October 25.
