Spain Fossils Confirm Diplodocus Outside North America

Palaeontologists in Spain have discovered the first confirmed Diplodocus fossils outside North America, ending a 150-year exclusive association with the US Morrison Formation. A set of fourteen tail vertebrae found in Teruel, Spain, dating back approximately 150 million years, exhibit the same anatomical signature as the well-known dinosaur. This discovery suggests falling sea levels during the Late Jurassic may have facilitated continental crossings for dinosaurs.
