Odisha Women Block Road Over Defunct Vasudha Drinking Water Project

Women from Singpur village in Odisha's Banspal block staged a road blockade on Saturday, demanding the Vasudha drinking water project be made operational. The project has been defunct for months due to non-functioning pumps, leaving the village without a regular piped water supply. The Block Development Officer stated that villagers had not informed the administration, but two of the four pumps have been repaired, and supply has resumed. The remaining two pumps will be fixed soon, restoring the Vasudha scheme's aim of providing safe rural drinking water.
