The Punjab assembly witnessed significant disruption on Friday, the second day of its session, concerning the October 13 murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa. Congress legislators protested, demanding the Chief Minister's resignation and accusing the government of failing on law and order. Following a walkout by the opposition, Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira was suspended for the remainder of the session. This suspension was due to alleged unparliamentary language and disregard for the Speaker during the protest.

शुक्रवार को पंजाब विधानसभा में सत्र के दूसरे दिन उस समय काफी हंगामा हुआ जब 13 अक्टूबर को मनसा में नशीली दवाओं के खिलाफ कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की हत्या का मामला उठा। कांग्रेस विधायकों ने मुख्यमंत्री के इस्तीफे की मांग करते हुए सरकार पर कानून-व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में नाकाम रहने का आरोप लगाया। विपक्ष के वॉकआउट के बाद, कांग्रेस विधायक सुखपाल सिंह खैरा को सत्र की शेष अवधि के लिए निलंबित कर दिया गया। यह निलंबन कथित तौर पर संसदीय भाषा के प्रयोग और विरोध के दौरान स्पीकर की अवहेलना के कारण हुआ।
