VTR Tigress T138 Translocated to Buxa Reserve in West Bengal

A three-year-old tigress, T138, born at Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in 2023, has been successfully translocated to Buxa Tiger Reserve (BTR) in West Bengal. The operation involved a 100-member team and faced challenges due to heavy rain. T138 was fitted with a radio collar for monitoring her movements and health post-release. She was airlifted by the Indian Air Force to Hasimara Air Force Station before being transported to BTR. Wildlife experts believe her age and robust health will aid her adaptation to the new environment.
