Vitamin B12 Therapy Shows Promise for Brain Cancer

New research has explored a novel therapy for brain cancer using a modified Vitamin B12 analogue, nitrosylcobalamin (NO-Cbl). This compound, designed to carry nitric oxide, has demonstrated the ability to selectively kill tumour cells. Crucially, it successfully crossed the blood-brain barrier, a significant hurdle in treating brain cancers. While these findings are promising, further development is needed before clinical application in patients.
