Eight Detained For Poaching In Talacauvery Wildlife Sanctuary

Kodagu foresters have apprehended eight individuals suspected of poaching within the Talacauvery Wildlife Sanctuary. The group, originating from villages in Bhagamandala panchayat, entered the protected area in three vehicles with a shotgun and head torches, intending to hunt game meat. They attempted to flee upon encountering forest personnel during a routine patrol near the Akkikandi anti-poaching camp. Authorities successfully detained the eight suspects and seized their vehicles, a shotgun, live cartridges, head torches, and mobile phones. Another suspect remains at large.

कोडगु के वन विभाग ने तलाकावेरी वन्यजीव अभयारण्य में शिकार के संदेह में आठ लोगों को पकड़ा है। ये लोग भगमंडला पंचायत के गांवों से आए थे और तीन गाड़ियों में एक शॉटगन और हेड टॉर्च लेकर संरक्षित क्षेत्र में घुसे थे, जिनका इरादा मांस के लिए शिकार करना था। जब वे नक्कीकंडी एंटी-पोचिंग कैंप के पास नियमित गश्त कर रहे वन कर्मियों से मिले तो भागने की कोशिश की। अधिकारियों ने आठों संदिग्धों को पकड़ लिया और उनकी गाड़ियां, एक शॉटगन, जिंदा कारतूस, हेड टॉर्च और मोबाइल फोन जब्त कर लिए। एक अन्य संदिग्ध अभी भी फरार है।
