The Bombay High Court has expressed strong displeasure and ordered the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to restore a video featuring actor Dia Mirza. The video, part of the BMC's official anti-firecracker campaign, appealed for a noise and pollution-free Deepavali celebration. It was previously removed by the civic body following objections from BJP leaders. The court's directive came during a suo motu Public Interest Litigation concerning noise and air pollution from religious processions across Maharashtra. The MCGM had been urged by the court to involve celebrities in pollution awareness efforts.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने कड़ा ऐतराज जताते हुए बृहन्मुंबई म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन (BMC) को ऐक्टर दिया मिर्ज़ा का एक वीडियो बहाल करने का आदेश दिया है। यह वीडियो BMC के पटाखा-विरोधी अभियान का हिस्सा था, जिसमें शोर-मुक्त और प्रदूषण-मुक्त दीपावली मनाने की अपील की गई थी। इसे पहले बीजेपी नेताओं की आपत्तियों के बाद नागरिक निकाय ने हटा दिया था। कोर्ट का यह निर्देश महाराष्ट्र में धार्मिक जुलूसों से होने वाले शोर और वायु प्रदूषण से संबंधित एक स्वतः संज्ञानित जनहित याचिका के दौरान आया। कोर्ट ने MCGM से प्रदूषण जागरूकता प्रयासों में मशहूर हस्तियों को शामिल करने का आग्रह किया था।
