MP Petrol Pumps To Limit UPI Payments

Petrol pump dealers in Madhya Pradesh will stop accepting UPI payments exceeding ₹2,000 from October 15. The MP Petrol Pump Association, representing 4,700 dealers, made this decision due to losses from the new merchant discount rate (MDR). Dealers will now only accept cash for transactions above ₹2,000, refusing to bear the 0.4% MDR. This move aims to discourage UPI usage and protect dealers' fixed profit margins, which are already impacted by credit card MDR.
