New T6SS Discovered in Pseudomonas Aeruginosa

Researchers have identified a fourth T6SS, known as the H4 system, in clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. While this bacterium typically possesses three T6SSs, this additional system's function remained unknown until now. A study by Wu et al. reveals the H4-T6SS in a clinical isolate deploys the pore-forming effector TseMt, shedding light on its role in bacterial interactions and potential pathogenicity.
