Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has challenged the Congress party to resign from their governments in Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Telangana. He stated that if they do so, he is ready to contest elections using ballot papers. Sarma alleged that these governments were formed through alleged "vote theft" during the tenure of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He defended the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists as necessary to investigate demographic changes in India due to illegal infiltration, particularly in Assam, West Bengal, and Jharkhand.
