Fire in Coal Wagons Doused at Bokaro Thermal Railway Station

A major mishap was averted at Bokaro Thermal railway station on Sunday morning when smoke and flames were spotted in coal-laden wagons of a goods train. Railway authorities immediately halted the train and cut off overhead power supply to prevent the fire from spreading. The train, carrying coal from Kathara railway siding to a power plant in Bihar, had five wagons affected. Firefighting operations were initiated by the DVC-CISF fire unit, successfully dousing the flames. Officials suspect smouldering coal from a colliery stockpile may have been loaded, intensifying during transit.

रविवार सुबह बोकारो थर्मल रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक बड़ा हादसा टल गया जब कोयले से लदे मालगाड़ी के वैगनों में धुआं और आग की लपटें देखी गईं। आग को फैलने से रोकने के लिए रेलवे अधिकारियों ने तुरंत ट्रेन को रोका और ओवरहेड बिजली की आपूर्ति बंद कर दी। बिहार के एक बिजली संयंत्र में काठारा रेलवे साइडिंग से कोयला ले जा रही ट्रेन के पांच वैगन प्रभावित हुए थे। डीवीसी-सीआईएसएफ की फायर यूनिट ने आग बुझाने का अभियान शुरू किया और आग पर सफलतापूर्वक काबू पा लिया। अधिकारियों को संदेह है कि कोयला खदान के स्टॉकपाइल से सुलगता हुआ कोयला लोड किया गया होगा, जो ट्रांजिट के दौरान तेज हो गया।
