BJP Women MPs to Meet President Seeking Congress MP's Dismissal Over JNU Case

A delegation of women Members of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will meet President Droupadi Murmu today to demand the dismissal of Congress MP Bimol Akoijam. This action follows JNU's decision to dismiss Akoijam as a professor due to multiple sexual misconduct complaints filed by 11 female students. The students accused him of inappropriate behaviour during late-night academic meetings at his residence. While Akoijam denies the allegations, Delhi Police have registered a case against him. The BJP criticizes the Congress for allegedly shielding the MP, demanding serious action.

भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) की महिला सांसदों का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल आज राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू से मिलेगा और कांग्रेस सांसद बिमोल एकोइजम को बर्खास्त करने की मांग करेगा। यह कदम जेएनयू द्वारा 11 महिला छात्रों द्वारा यौन दुराचार की कई शिकायतों के कारण एकोइजम को प्रोफेसर के पद से बर्खास्त करने के निर्णय के बाद उठाया गया है। छात्रों ने उन पर अपने आवास पर देर रात की अकादमिक बैठकों के दौरान अनुचित व्यवहार का आरोप लगाया है। हालांकि एकोइजम ने आरोपों से इनकार किया है, दिल्ली पुलिस ने उनके खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया है। भाजपा कांग्रेस पर कथित तौर पर सांसद को बचाने का आरोप लगाती है और कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग करती है।
