Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has alleged large-scale irregularities in toll collection by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE). He questioned the sharp increase in reported revenue following the introduction of FASTag, citing a report that claims NICE invested only 40% of the required amount for the project. The minister stated that annual toll revenue reportedly jumped from ₹60-70 crore to approximately ₹700 crore after FASTag was implemented in 2022. Kumaraswamy suggested that toll revenue may have been underreported before the electronic system was introduced, impacting state government information.
