Man Loses Rs 2.4 Lakh in Fake Online Escort Service Scam

A 22-year-old man in Mangaluru has lost Rs 2,37,498 after falling victim to an online fraud involving a fake escort service advertised on Instagram. He was initially redirected to a Telegram chat and later contacted via WhatsApp. The fraudsters convinced him to make multiple online payments for booking, security deposits, confirmation, police verification, and waiting charges, promising a full refund. मंगलुरु में 22 साल के एक युवक ने इंस्टाग्राम पर विज्ञापित एक नकली एस्कॉर्ट सर्विस से जुड़े ऑनलाइन धोखाधड़ी का शिकार होने के बाद 2,37,498 रुपये गंवा दिए। उसे शुरू में एक टेलीग्राम चैट पर रीडायरेक्ट किया गया और बाद में व्हाट्सएप पर संपर्क किया गया। धोखेबाजों ने उसे बुकिंग, सुरक्षा जमा, कन्फर्मेशन, पुलिस वेरिफिकेशन और वेटिंग चार्ज के लिए कई ऑनलाइन भुगतान करने के लिए मना लिया, और पूरा रिफंड का वादा किया। पीड़ित ने 8 तारीख के बीच Google Pay, UPI और नेट बैंकिंग के माध्यम से पैसे ट्रांसफर किए। CEN क्राइम पुलिस स्टेशन में मामला दर्ज किया गया है।
