Kerala Police have registered 6,199 cases of drunken driving during a special statewide enforcement drive conducted to. Police and excise squads will continue round-the-clock checks until January next year, focusing on the Christmas and New Year season. Ernakulam rural recorded the highest number of cases with 710, while Kasaragod reported the lowest with 75. This intensified enforcement is part of 'Operation Toofan', a statewide anti-drug initiative aimed at reducing road accidents and fatalities caused by drunken driving.
