The Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered PVR Inox to pay ₹20,000 in compensation and deposit ₹50,000 as punitive damages. This ruling follows a complaint by advocate Chanda Athish Kumar, who experienced a 22-minute delay in the screening of the film Kubera due to advertisements and trailers. The delay caused significant inconvenience and disrupted his personal schedule. PVR Inox's defence that commercial screenings are integral to their business was rejected by the commission. The case highlights consumer rights regarding service deficiencies in cinema halls.

PVR Inox
