Romanian shepherds and farmers protested against a European Union ban on livestock exports due to disease, clashing with riot police in Bucharest. Approximately 2,000 demonstrators gathered, with violence erupting when some threw objects at law enforcement. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, detaining 26 people. Twenty-four individuals, including demonstrators and officers, required medical attention, with four hospitalised. The government and opposition urged an end to the violence.
