A Chinese sweet called tang huan, or Chinese sugar rings, has gained attention for its striking resemblance to India's popular jalebi. The comparison went viral on social media after a Chinese Embassy official posted photos of both treats side-by-side. While both are crispy, sugary spiral-shaped fried desserts, tang huan is traditionally made with eggs and is a family affair during Chinese New Year. Jalebi, on the other hand, is typically vegetarian and made with maida, yogurt, and besan. The discovery has sparked discussions about cultural connections through food.
