Kashmir Cross-LoC Trade Centre Becomes Tourism Hub

The Salamabad Trade Facilitation Centre in Kashmir's Baramulla district, once a hub for cross-LoC trade, is being converted into a tourism centre. This decision by the Jammu and Kashmir government seven years after trade was suspended in 2019 marks the end of a significant chapter for many. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described the trade route as a dream fulfilled through sacrifice, connecting communities and creating livelihoods.

बारामूला जिले के सलामबाद ट्रेड फैसिलिटेशन सेंटर को अब टूरिज्म सेंटर बनाया जा रहा है। यह वो जगह थी जहाँ एलओसी के पार व्यापार होता था। जम्मू-कश्मीर सरकार ने 2019 में व्यापार बंद होने के सात साल बाद यह फैसला लिया है। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री महबूबा मुफ्ती ने कहा कि यह व्यापार मार्ग बलिदानों से पूरा हुआ एक सपना था, जिसने लोगों को जोड़ा और रोज़ी-रोटी दी।
