Fighting in Sudan's Kordofan region has intensified since late 2025, making it a primary battleground in the ongoing war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). This vast region, comprising North, West, and South Kordofan states, lies at the intersection of the SAF's central and eastern territories and the RSF's western strongholds.
