Kochi Corporation to Fence Brahmapuram Site for New Dog Shelter Soon

The Kochi Corporation is set to begin fencing the Brahmapuram site designated for a new dog shelter, with ground levelling already completed. The shelter, designed to accommodate 500 dogs in its first phase, will be funded through the annual plan and potentially PSUs like BPCL Kochi Refinery. Designs have been finalised, and tenders for construction will be invited shortly. This initiative aligns with a Supreme Court mandate to remove stray dogs from public areas, with animals to be sterilised before relocation.

कोच्चि कॉर्पोरेशन ने ब्रह्मपुरम में नई डॉग शेल्टर के लिए जगह की घेराबंदी शुरू करने की तैयारी कर ली है, जहाँ ज़मीन को समतल करने का काम पूरा हो चुका है। यह शेल्टर, जो पहले चरण में 500 कुत्तों को रखने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है, वार्षिक योजना और संभवतः BPCL कोच्चि रिफाइनरी जैसी PSUs से मिलने वाले फंड से बनाया जाएगा। डिज़ाइन को अंतिम रूप दे दिया गया है और निर्माण के लिए जल्द ही टेंडर मंगवाए जाएंगे। यह पहल सार्वजनिक स्थानों से आवारा कुत्तों को हटाने के सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश के अनुरूप है, जिसमें कुत्तों को स्थानांतरित करने से पहले उनका बधियाकरण किया जाएगा।
