ONGC Natural Gas Leak in Andhra Pradesh; Pipeline Repair Underway

A natural gas leak was reported from an ONGC pipeline near Machavaram village in Andhra Pradesh's Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Monday, October 26, 2026. Local residents alerted authorities around 8:30 a.m. ONGC's Safety wing personnel are actively working to plug the leak and replace the damaged pipeline. All ONGC wells in the vicinity have been temporarily shut down until the repair work is completed. This incident follows a previous blowout at the Mori-5 well in the same district earlier this year.
