Himalayan Coldest Nights May Warm Over 6°C By Century's End
Times of India · science
A new study projects that the coldest nights in the Himalayas could warm by over 6°C by the end of the century, potentially faster than the hottest days. This suggests a significant decline in extreme cold conditions across the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Researchers analyzed 29 climate models, finding that frost and ice days are projected to decrease. The study, involving scientists from NIT Rourkela and IITM Pune, highlights the need for stronger climate adaptation measures due to these shifting temperature patterns.
