Bhushan Jha, who was declared the MLC candidate for the Tirhut Teachers' constituency by Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj party just 24 hours prior, has now quit the party and announced he will contest as an independent. Jha cited disrespectful treatment during a review meeting attended by Kishor as the reason for his decision. He alleged that he and his supporters were prevented from speaking freely and were pressured to follow a pre-determined narrative.
