Jaipur police have seized approximately 150 SUVs and shut down 22 unauthorized rental agencies following a survey that revealed a significant loophole in the self-drive market. These agencies were allegedly renting out high-end vehicles for as little as Rs 1,000 daily without recording customer identification, such as Aadhaar or driving licence details. The crackdown was prompted by numerous complaints of road rage, accidents, and brawls linked to rental vehicles.

जयपुर पुलिस ने एक सर्वे के बाद लगभग 150 एसयूवी जब्त की हैं और 22 अनधिकृत रेंटल एजेंसियों को बंद कर दिया है। इस सर्वे से सेल्फ-ड्राइव बाजार में एक बड़ी खामी का पता चला। ये एजेंसियां कथित तौर पर आधार या ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस जैसे ग्राहक की पहचान दर्ज किए बिना, प्रतिदिन मात्र 1,000 रुपये में हाई-एंड गाड़ियां किराए पर दे रही थीं। रेंटल वाहनों से जुड़े रोड रेज, दुर्घटनाओं और झगड़ों की कई शिकायतों के बाद यह कार्रवाई की गई।
