Karnataka Cancels 16 Pharmacy Licences Over Spurious Drugs

Karnataka's Food Safety and Drugs Administration has cancelled 16 pharmacy licences and suspended eight others, including Pfizer's depot, for alleged involvement in spurious drug distribution. This action follows the discovery of an unlicenced drug repacking racket in Bidadi, Bengaluru, where drugs worth ₹5.05 crore were seized. Health Minister U.T. Khader stated that licences were cancelled for non-cooperation with the Special Investigation Team.

कर्नाटक की खाद्य सुरक्षा और औषधि प्रशासन ने नकली दवाएं बांटने के आरोप में 16 दवा दुकानों के लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिए हैं और आठ को निलंबित कर दिया है, जिसमें Pfizer का डिपो भी शामिल है। यह कार्रवाई बेंगलुरु के बिदादी में एक अनधिकृत दवा रीपैकिंग रैकेट का पता चलने के बाद हुई, जहाँ से ₹5.05 करोड़ की दवाएं जब्त की गईं। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री यू.टी. खादर ने बताया कि स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम के साथ सहयोग न करने पर लाइसेंस रद्द किए गए।
