Doctor States Parents Were Counselled on Generic SMA Drug

The doctor in charge of the SMA clinic at SAT Hospital stated that parents of children with spinal muscular atrophy were counselled about the government introducing a generic version of Risdiplam. Dr. V.H. Shankar clarified that meetings were held to address queries on the efficacy of the generic drug, Natsmart, which has been given to six children. He explained that the new drug is not the same brand as the previously dispensed Evrysdi.
