Chinese Smartphone Brands Lose Market Share In India Amidst Rising Chip Costs
TV9 Hindi · business
The Indian smartphone market is witnessing a significant shift as Chinese brands like Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi see their market share drop to its lowest point since 2016. This decline is attributed to the increased cost of memory chips, leading companies to reduce production of budget-friendly phones. Consequently, consumers are finding it difficult to purchase phones in the ₹7,000 to ₹10,000 price range. Indian brands such as Lava and AI Plus have capitalized on this gap, increasing their combined market share to 7%.
