बैंक यूनियनों ने इंडियन बैंक्स एसोसिएशन (IBA) द्वारा उनकी मांगों पर विचार करने के लिए सहमत होने के बाद अपनी प्रस्तावित तीन दिवसीय हड़ताल वापस ले ली है। शेष शनिवारों को छुट्टियों के रूप में घोषित करने और विकल्पों का पता लगाने के लिए तुरंत एक उच्च-स्तरीय समिति का गठन किया जाएगा। यूनियनें पांच-दिवसीय कार्य सप्ताह के लिए दबाव डाल रही हैं, एक ऐसी मांग जिसका बैंकों ने संभावित ग्राहक असुविधा के कारण विरोध किया है। सरकार ने ग्राहक व्यवधान को रोकने के लिए रविवार को शाखाएं खुली रखने का आदेश दिया था।
