India Bans Reuse of Single-Use Medical Devices in Hospitals

The Directorate General of Health Services has issued an order prohibiting the reuse of single-use medical devices across all hospitals in India. These devices, such as needles and syringes, are designed for one-time use per patient and cannot be sterilized for subsequent use. Reusing them poses a significant risk of infection and can endanger patient lives. The directive applies to both government and private healthcare facilities, with strict action threatened for non-compliance.

स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं के महानिदेशालय ने भारत के सभी अस्पतालों में सिंगल-यूज़ मेडिकल डिवाइस के दोबारा इस्तेमाल पर रोक लगाने का आदेश जारी किया है। ये डिवाइस, जैसे कि सुई और सिरिंज, हर मरीज़ के लिए एक बार इस्तेमाल के लिए डिज़ाइन किए गए हैं और इन्हें दोबारा इस्तेमाल के लिए स्टेरलाइज़ नहीं किया जा सकता है। इनका दोबारा इस्तेमाल संक्रमण का एक बड़ा खतरा पैदा करता है और मरीज़ों की जान खतरे में डाल सकता है। यह निर्देश सरकारी और निजी दोनों स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं पर लागू होता है, और पालन न करने पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की चेतावनी दी गई है।
