Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms lashed parts of Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, on Thursday afternoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) initially issued an orange alert for all districts of Delhi, later elevating it to a red warning for several areas. Moderate to intense rainfall, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds up to 60 kmph, was forecast. The minimum temperature in Delhi settled at 23.3 degrees Celsius, 3.7 degrees above normal, with the maximum expected around 29 degrees Celsius. Experts attribute the downpour to a western disturbance and cyclonic circulation.
