Bengal Voters Can Now Submit Pending Appeals Via Booth-Level Officers

Times of India · india

The Election Commission in Bengal has launched a new feature on its BLO App, allowing voters with pending appeals before SIR tribunals to submit additional documents through their booth-level officers. This aims to help individuals seeking the restoration of their names on the electoral rolls. Approximately 37 lakh appeals remain undecided out of a total of 38 lakh filed before the tribunals. While this offers a new avenue for voters, some BLOs have reported a lack of clear instructions regarding the new facility.
