India secured the 10th position at the 48th WorldSkills Competition 2026 in Shanghai, China, showcasing a significant improvement from its previous 13th place finish. The Indian contingent achieved an impressive haul of 6 silver medals and 20 Medals for Excellence, totaling 26 accolades. This performance highlights the growing skill and competitive capability of Indian youth on a global stage. A record contingent of 70 participants competed across 63 skills, with India also entering 11 new skill categories for the first time.
