GlobalFoundries and Marvell Technology have expanded their agreement to increase semiconductor production capacity for high-speed optical connections in data centers. This multi-year deal will boost GlobalFoundries' silicon germanium (SiGe) technology output at its Vermont facility. The expansion aims to meet the surging demand for SiGe, crucial for faster and more energy-efficient optical networking devices driven by the rapid growth of AI data centers worldwide.
