Bar Leaders Meet Law Minister, Submit Draft Bill for Advocate Protection

A delegation from the Federation of Bar Associations of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry met the TN Law Minister C T R Nirmal Kumar to submit a draft Bill for the proposed TN Advocates (Protection) Act. The legislation aims to provide greater protection for advocates facing assaults, killings, intimidation, and threats while performing their professional duties. The minister assured the delegation that the draft would be presented to the Chief Minister for necessary action. This initiative follows a resolution adopted in a previous meeting concerning the welfare of the legal fraternity.

तमिलनाडु और पुडुचेरी के बार एसोसिएशनों के महासंघ का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल तमिलनाडु के कानून मंत्री सी टी आर निर्मल कुमार से मिला और प्रस्तावित तमिलनाडु एडवोकेट्स (प्रोटेक्शन) एक्ट के लिए एक मसौदा विधेयक सौंपा। इस कानून का उद्देश्य वकीलों को उनके पेशेवर कर्तव्यों का पालन करते समय हमलों, हत्याओं, धमकियों और चेतावनियों से अधिक सुरक्षा प्रदान करना है। मंत्री ने प्रतिनिधिमंडल को आश्वासन दिया कि मसौदे को आवश्यक कार्रवाई के लिए मुख्यमंत्री के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा। यह पहल कानूनी बिरादरी के कल्याण से संबंधित पिछली बैठक में अपनाए गए एक प्रस्ताव के बाद हुई है।
