The Indian Navy has commissioned its third Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, INS Mangrol, in Mumbai. Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, the vessel is designed to detect and counter submarine threats in coastal and shallow waters, where larger warships have limitations. With over 80% indigenous content, it signifies the advancement of India's domestic warship construction capabilities. INS Mangrol is equipped with advanced sonar, lightweight torpedoes, and rocket launchers, enhancing its role in underwater surveillance and maritime operations.
